Hilltoppers Travel to Bridgeport for Midweek Match with Salem

West Liberty, W.Va. – The West Liberty University women's soccer team travels to Bridgeport, West Virginia, in search of completing the season sweep of Salem on Wednesday evening. The Hilltoppers and Tigers are set for a 5 p.m. kickoff at The Bridge Sports Complex.

WEST LIBERTY STORYLINES
  • West Liberty enters Wednesday's match with a record of 5-7-3 (4-6-2 MEC) on the season and is fourth in the North Division of the Mountain East Conference standings with 14 points.
  • The Hilltoppers look to get back into the win column after dropping their third consecutive match on Sunday afternoon, falling on the road to Notre Dame by a score of 4-1.
  • Amelia Compston leads the team with seven goals this season while Kost has added six on the year. Kost is also tied for third in the conference with three game-winning goals on the year. Kost is the only player in WLU history to record multiple multi-goal games in a single season, with two against Salem and West Virginia State.

Wickert has posted a 0.781 save percentage and a 1.74 goals-against average while recording three shutouts.   • With one goal and two points apiece, Sarah Cabrera and Chloe Owens have been the only players for SU to find the back of the net in 2023.
  • Marina Cher and Ana Luiza Ferrante each have tallied one assist this season.
  • Cabrera has started and played 12 games in goal for Salem, totaling 1,080 minutes of playing time while making 147 saves on 406 shots faced. She has posted a 0.590 save percentage and a 8.50 goals-against average while recording one shutout.
  • Through 13 matches the Tigers' opponents have held the advantage in goals (113-2), assists (67-2), shots (441-16), shots-on-goal (269-10), and corner kicks (105-2) while Salem has held the advantage in saves (155-8)
