PARKERSBURG, W.Va. – The West Liberty University men's tennis team dropped a 5-2 decision to perennial Atlantic Region power Bluefield State here Wednesday in a non-conference match on the City Park courts.
The Big Blues (5-6) swept all three doubles matches to claim the doubles point and went on to take four of the six singles bouts to finish off the win.
Moritz Erpel gave West Liberty (9-5) a straight-set win at No. 1 singles with a 6-2 7-6(7) victory against Bluefield State's Teddy Razafindratsima. Also winning in straight sets for the Black and Gold was
Nevio Dux, who took down the Big Blues' Fernando Arguello at No. 6 singles.
The Hilltoppers return to Mountain East Conference play on Friday with a 3 p.m. match against the University of Charleston at the Wheeling Park indoor courts.
