WASHINGTON, Pa. – The regionally-ranked West Liberty University men's tennis team won four of the six singles matches here Monday in pulling away to a 5-2 victory against Salem (W.Va.) in a non-conference make-up match at Washington Park.
Coach Ron Hulewicz's Hilltoppers (12-7) used wins at No. 1 and No. 3 doubles to claim the doubles point and carry a 1-0 lead into singles play.
Moritz Erpel,
Anton Schulz, Isfan Makhmudov and
Nevio Dux carded straight-set wins to finish off the Tigers (4-13) as the Black and Gold brought down the curtain on their regular season slate.
The Hilltoppers, ranked No. 6 in the latest NCAA Division II Atlantic Region rankings, have clinched the No. 2 seed in this weekend's Mountain East Conference Tournament.
