ELKINS, W.Va. – The West Liberty University men's tennis team rolled to a 7-0 shutout of Davis & Elkins here Monday in a Mountain East Conference match at the Senators' home courts.
    Coach Ronnie Hulewicz's Hilltoppers (10-7, 3-2) won two of the three doubles matches to earn the doubles point before sweeping all six singles matches to close out the conference win.
    Davis & Elkins (3-2, 1-1) got the win at No. 1 doubles but Moritz Erpel and Gianluca Gerndt squared things for the Black and Gold with a 6-1 romp at No. 2 doubles. Isfan Makhumudov and Daisuke Aota clinched the doubles point for the visitors with a 7-5 nod at No. 3 doubles.
    Erpel, Aota, Makhumudov and Dux all took straight-set wins in singles for West Liberty. Anton Schulz dropped the first set of his No. 2 singles match but took the next two sets by identical scores of 6-2 and 6-2 for the win. Gerndt recovered from a 6-3 loss in the second set of his No. 4 singles match by taking the third set 6-3.
    West Liberty won't be in action again until a 3 p.m. match against Fairmont State on April 20.
