RAVENSWOOD, W.Va. – The West Liberty University women's golf team claimed two of the top three spots in the medal chase here Sunday as the Shriners Hospital Shootout concluded its two-day run at Green Hills Golf Club.
The 8-team event was hosted by Ohio Valley University.
Kailey Pettit shot the low round of the tournament on Sunday, a 4-over-par 76, to finish second in the individual standings with a 36-hole score of 15-over-par 159. That left Pettit just three shots shy of medalist Katelyn Sayyalinh from the University of Southern Indiana, who matched Pettit's 76 on Sunday to finish at 12-over-par 156.
Alexis Ramby, the Hilltoppers' fast-rising second-year freshman, was the only player to break 80 during Saturday's opening round and took third-place honors for the event at 17-over-par 161.
