Box Score     BUCKHANNON, W.Va. – The West Liberty University women's soccer team couldn't get anything going here Saturday night as unbeaten and No. 14-ranked West Virginia Wesleyan cruised to a 3-0 victory under the lights at Culpepper Stadium.
Coach Barry Christmas's Hilltoppers (2-3-1, 1-3-1) found themselves in an early hole when the Bobcats (5-0-1, 4-0-0) got a goal from Haelly Ramirez in the 10th minute of play.
West Liberty held Wesleyan off the scoreboard for the rest of the half to trail just 1-0 at intermission but the hosts tacked on two more goals in a 5-minute span during the second half to put the match on ice.
Ramirez pushed the count to 2-0 with an unassisted goal in the 61st minute and Shannon Shawgo finished off an assist from Madison LaPole in the 66th minute to conclude the scoring.
The Hilltoppers will try to get back on track on Wednesday when they host Shepherd in a 4:30 p.m. match at the West Liberty Soccer Complex.
