ATHENS, W.Va. – The West Liberty University women's soccer team dropped a 1-0 decision at Concord on Thursday afternoon.

Barry Christmas's Hilltoppers (2-2-1, 1-2-1) battled the host Mountain Lions (3-2-0, 1-2-0) to a scoreless draw in the first half but Concord was finally able to break through in the second half.
The Mountain Lions' Pilar Elias sent a cross through the top of the box to Micharae Thompson, who hammered a well-paced shot past WLU keeper
Allie Warsaw in the 57th minute.
It was the first goal surrendered all season by the Hilltopper senior, ending her impressive shutout streak at 346 minutes, 17 seconds.
West Liberty created a couple of scoring opportunities over the final 30 minutes but couldn't get one past Concord keeper Katie Maher.
The road doesn't get any easier for the Lady Hilltoppers as they head to Buckhannon on Saturday to take on nationally-ranked West Virginia Wesleyan. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
