Oskin's Hat Trick Keys WLU Soccer Win

Box Score WEST LIBERTY, W.Va. – Kaelyn Oskin notched her first career hat trick and the West Liberty University women's soccer team continued its climb up the Mountain East Conference ladder with a 3-0 romp past Fairmont State Thursdayafternoon at the West Liberty Soccer Complex.
It was the second straight win for Coach Barry Christmas's fast-rising Hilltoppers (3-3-1, 3-1-1), who have posted three wins and a draw over their last four matches.
Oskin, a freshman midfielder from Knoch High School in Butler, Pa., wasted no time getting started as Emily Evans got the ball to Oskin who finished into the right side of the cage from near point-blank range just 34 seconds after the opening kickoff.
The Black and Gold kept the pressure on the Falcons (2-5-1, 0-5-1) and it paid off again in the 18th minute when Oskin got deep again and cashed in a pass from Allie Roberts for a 2-0 lead.
After West Liberty carried that two-goal lead into intermission, Oskin completed her hat trick and put the game out of reach in the 61st minute when Thanna Oddo sent a ball into the 6-yard box and Oskin slipped it into the right side of the net to conclude the scoring.
The Hilltopper back line teamed up with goalkeeper Allie Warsaw for another strong performance. Dating back to a 3-0 shutout of Urbana on Sept. 11, West Liberty has allowed only one goal in the last 380 minutes of play. Warsaw had three saves to earn the shutout on Thursday.
West Liberty remains at home for a Sunday showdown with Ohio County rival Wheeling Jesuit. Kickoff is set for 2 p.m. at the West Liberty Soccer Complex.
