WLU Soccer Settles for Draw at Fairmont State

Box Score FAIRMONT, W.Va. – The West Liberty University women's soccer team played to a scoreless draw in double overtime against Fairmont State here on the artificial turf at Duvall-Rosier Field on Sunday afternoon.
Coach Barry Christmas' Hilltoppers (6-6-4, 6-4-4) had the better of the run of play for most of the afternoon but couldn't find the back of the net against the defense-oriented Falcons (2-11-3, 0-11-3).
West Liberty outshot Fairmont by a 16-9 margin on the day with the hosts getting only two shots on frame in the 110 minutes of action.. Hilltopper netminder Allie Warsaw easily saved both attempts to earn the shutout.
The Black and Gold face a tough test Wednesday night when they travel to Buckhannon for a 7 p.m. match against regionally-ranked West Virginia Wesleyan.
