Box Score SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. – The West Liberty University women's soccer team dropped another heartbreaker on Sunday, coming out on the short end of a 1-0 count in Mountain East Conference action at Shepherd.
Following a scoreless first half, the host Rams (3-1-2, 2-1-2) netted the only goal of the match when Abby Hoffman finished off a Samantha Leonard assist in the 56th minute.
The Hilltoppers (0-4-1, 0-3-1) had several promising chances down the stretch b
ut couldn't come up with the equalizer.
Shepherd had a 14-7 edge in shots while WLU had a 3-2 advantage in corner kicks.
Allie Warsaw came up with 5 saves in goal to take the hard-luck loss.
The West Liberty women hit the road again in search of that elusive first win on Thursday night with a 7:30 p.m. match at Fairmont State.
