Box Score
SOUTH EUCLID, Ohio – The West Liberty University women's soccer team gave up a pair of first half goals and couldn't recover here Friday as host Notre Dame coasted to a 2-0 win at Mueller Field.
The Falcons (8-3-1, 7-2-1) drew first blood in the 10th minute when Jillian Doss took advantage of a loose ball in the box and banged it into the net for a quick 1-0 lead.
Notre Dame pushed the margin to 2-0 in the 29th minute when the WLU back line was unable to clear a long centering pass from Sarah Grossman. A sprinting Katarina Doncevic ran onto the ball behind the Black and Gold defense and drilled it home.
With the two-goal lead, the Falcons went into a defensive shell, giving Coach Barry Christmas' Hilltoppers (2-6-3, 2-5-3) very few chances to get back in the match.
Notre Dame outshot West Liberty by a 10-3 margin and Louisa Rygh made two saves to get the shutout. Hannah Judkins had a pair of saves in net for the Hilltoppers.
West Liberty returns home to host Urbana on Sunday. Kickoff is set for noon at the West Liberty Soccer Complex.
