West Liberty Soccer Shut Out at Wheeling Jesuit

Box Score WHEELING, W.Va. – The West Liberty University women's soccer team dropped a 2-0 decision to Wheeling Jesuit Thursday night in Mountain East Conference action at Bishop Schmitt Field.
    The Cardinals (3-10-2, 3-8-2) took the lead just before halftime when Nikki Hillard finished off an assist from Emily Hartley in the 40th minutes.
    Coach Barry Christmas' Hilltoppers (3-8-4, 3-6-4) were unable to come up with the equalizer and Hartley put the game away for Wheeling Jesuit in the 81st minute when she came on a loose ball in the box after a corner kick and ripped it into the bottom corner of the net.
    Hannah Thompson earned the shutout in goal with three saves for the hosts. Allie Warsaw had a pair of saves in net for West Liberty.
    The Hilltoppers return home to host Fairmont State on Sunday. Kickoff is set for noon at the West Liberty Soccer Complex.
