Box Score
WEST LIBERTY, W.Va. – There was plenty of offense but no goals Saturday afternoon as the West Liberty and Wheeling Jesuit women's soccer teams settled for a scoreless draw in a Mountain East Conference match at the West Liberty Soccer Complex.
The keepers were the story in this game as the teams combined for a whopping 38 shots but couldn't find the net with any of them on a day that featured plenty of end-to-end action.
Allie Warsaw had 7 saves for the Hilltoppers (2-4-3, 2-3-2) while Holly Kraus was called on to stop 11 shots for the visiting Cardinals (0-5-4, 0-4-3).
West Liberty nearly broke the scoring ice in the first overtime when Janice Johnson's shot slammed off the crossbar in the 94th minute.
The Hilltoppers dominated the two overtime periods, outshooting the Cardinals by a 3-1 margin in the first extra frame and posting a 6-1 bulge in the second overtime only to come away empty-handed.
West Liberty returns to action Tuesday night with a 7 p.m. match at West Virginia Wesleyan.
