Box Score BUCKHANNON, W.Va.  – The West Liberty University women's soccer team couldn't get anything going offensively Tuesday night and dropped a 2-0 decision at West Virginia Wesleyan.
Coach Barry Christmas's Hilltoppers (1-4, 0-2) were held without a shot in a solid defensive effort by the host Bobcats (2-2-1, 1-0-1), who scored a goal in each half to salt away their first MEC triumph.
Hannah Gurtis got Wesleyan's first goal in the 9th minute when she ripped the ball into the bottom left corner of the net off a cross from Colette Biondi.
Rachel Ritchey wrapped up the scoring in the 70th minute with a 25-yard floater that squeezed just under the crossbar.
Hilltopper keepers Hannah Judkins and Rachel Coles split time in net and were able to keep things from getting out of hand. Judkins was charted with 5 saves while Coles turned aside 3 Bobcat shots.
West Liberty will try to get back on track Saturday when the Hilltoppers host Concord in a noon match at the West Liberty Soccer Complex.
