Women's Soccer | 10/16/2013 6:31:00 PM

Box Score ATHENS, W.Va. – Host Concord scored three unanswered goals in the second half to come from behind for a 3-1 victory against West Liberty in Mountain East Conference women's soccer actionWednesday afternoon at Anderson Field.
The win – Concord's second of the season against Coach Barry Christmas's Hilltoppers (4-8-1, 3-6-1) – pulled the Mountain Lions (5-7-1, 3-6-1) into a four-way tie with West Liberty, Urbana and Charleston for the fourth and final playoff spot in the MEC standings.
The Hilltoppers got off to a good start, putting good pressure on the Concord goal for much of the first half and grabbing a 1-0 lead just before halftime.
West Liberty's goal was scored by Kaylynn Petrisin in the 42nd minute, who cashed in a rebound when Keiana Palmer's shot beat the Mountain Lion keeper but caromed off the post and into the box.
Concord grabbed the momentum early in the second half when Sara van den Akker banged home back-to-back goals less than 40 seconds apart during the 59th minute. Nikki Jarrell added an insurance tally in the 82nd minute.
The Lady Hilltoppers return home to prepare for a crucial MEC showdown with Charleston on Sunday. Kickoff is set for 2 p.m. at the West Liberty Soccer Complex.
