Box Score PEPPER PIKE, Ohio – The West Liberty University women's soccer team surrendered an early goal and couldn't recover here Wednesday afternoon as Ursuline pulled away to a 4-1 victory in a non-conference match.
The host Arrows (6-4) jumped out to a quick 1-0 lead when Anna Feitl nodded home a header in the sixth minute. Feitl pushed the margin to 2-0 just before halftime when she assisted on a header by Paige Rowan.
Coach
Barry Christmas's Hilltoppers (2-10) tried to get back into the match when play resumed in the second half but couldn't mount a sustained offensive surge. Rowan and Taylor MacIver tacked on a pair of insurance goals for Ursuline to put the game out of reach.
West Liberty ended its five-match scoreless streak in the 76
th minute when
Keiana Palmer cashed in an assist from
Sarah Evans to conclude the scoring.
The Hilltoppers return to conference play on Saturday with a noon match at Davis & Elkins.
