A 4-year football standout who started every game from the first day he stepped on campus, Tom Ledder was a key member of Coach Bob Roe's outstanding defensive units from 1967-70.
The ferocious inside linebacker was one of the leading lights on the 1970 defense that finished the year ranked No. 3 nationally, yielding only 57 points all season while posting four shutouts. That defense helped the Black and Gold earn an NAIA playoff berth and Ledder's illustrious career ended with a hard-fought 12-6 loss to Wofford (S.C.) in an NAIA national semifinal.
Ledder coached at West Liberty and WVU Tech for several seasons after graduation before entering the business world as an entrepreneur focusing on computer software sales.
