Ted Stolarczyk was an outstanding two-sport athlete at West Liberty State College from 1950-54. He earned six varsity letters while starring on the school’s baseball and football teams.
The versatile Stolarczyk was a rare four-year letterman for legendary head coach Joe Bartell's West Liberty baseball team, compiling a fine .315 batting average over his four-year career while playing centerfield, right field and second base when he wasn't on the mound.
A 2-way standout in football who also excelled on special teams, Stolarczyk earned a couple of letters on the gridiron only to see his football career cut short due to an injury suffered during the 1953 season.
After graduation, Stolarczyk served in the U.S. Army for two years during the Korean War before returning home to begin a 30-plus year teaching and administrative career with the Marion (Ohio) City School District.
