Orsini took a lead role in numerous projects that proved instrumental in the school's planning, funding and development of the finest overall athletic complex in the WVIAC.
The 1949 West Liberty graduate went on to earn his master’s degree from the University of Pittsburgh in 1952. Following six years of high school teaching, he assumed his role as West Liberty’s business manager in 1955. During his early years at West Liberty, Orsini taught classes and advised students at the Wheeling campus in addition to his duties as business manager. He also spent time recruiting for the college by speaking at area high schools on College Day, and at local community PTA meetings.
Orsini was a charter member of several school boards including the College Foundation Board and the Hilltopper Athletic Club which raises money for the college’s athletic scholarship fund. Among his many honors were the West Liberty Medal of Distinction in 1991 and a 1993 Certificate of Appreciation from Gov. Gaston Caperton in recognition of 35 years of public service to the state of West Virginia.
