A three-time All-WVIAC selection and two-time All-Region pick, West led the nation in assists for two straight seasons (2002, 2003) and ended her career ranked among the Top 5 women in NCAA Division II history with 899 assists. The Albany, Ohio native also ranked No. 1 at WLU in career free-throw percentage (.837) and was the first Lady Hilltopper to hand out more than 300 assists in a season with 302 during her junior year.
The playmaking point guard also had a knack for scoring, ranking among West Liberty’s career leaders with 1,425 points and 202 3-point field goals. In 2007, Kelly was named one of the WVIAC’s Top 25 women’s basketball players during the league’s first 25 years of the sport.
After graduating from West Liberty, West went on to complete her doctoral degree in Physical Therapy at Slippery Rock University.
