Jack Donovan is remembered as one of the most versatile athletes in West Liberty history after earning multiple first-team All-WVIAC honors in three separate sports during the early 1950s.
A four-year letterman in football, basketball and baseball from 1951-54, Donovan was a four-time All-WVIAC pick in basketball - earning first-team honors in 1951 and 1953 - and was a two-time first-team All-Conference pick in baseball following the 1951 and 1953 seasons.
A three-time All-WVIAC honoree in football, Donovan led the conference in total offense in 1953 and 1954 to earn back-to-back first-team All-WVIAC football laurels. He was one of only a handful of former stars to be named to the WVIAC's 50th Anniversary All-Time All-Conference Team in multiple sports (football and basketball).
After graduating from West Liberty in 1954, Donovan remained in the local area as a teacher and coach before heading south to enter the business world in Florida.
