Heather Alcorn Ferguson is one of the most decorated players in the long and storied history of West Liberty women’s tennis. A four-time All-West Virginia Conference selection and two-time WVIAC Player of the Year, Heather led Coach Heather Gallagher’s Hilltoppers to three WVIAC championships, two WVIAC Tournament crowns and a pair of NCAA Division II Tournament bids.
The Centerville, Ohio native pulled off a rare “double” during her first college season, earning WVIAC Freshman of the Year and Player of the Year honors after not losing a match in league play. She was a fixture at No. 1 singles and doubles for WLU throughout her career, winning more than 80 percent of her matches while leading the team to a 34-7 record in WVIAC action.
Heather graduated in 2008 with a Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality and Tourism Management. Along with her duties as Director of Membership and Marketing at Westwood Country Club in Rocky River, Ohio, she served as treasurer for the Professional Club Marketing Association. Heather is also an active member of the Rocky River Chamber of Commerce and the Rocky River Early Childhood PTA.
Heather married her college sweetheart, former Hilltopper football standout Drew Ferguson, and resides in Rocky River with her children – Charlie, Max, and Nora.
