    Earl Duncan was a multi-sport standout at Bridgeport (Ohio) High School during the 1920s who went on to captain three separate sports during his time on the hilltop from 1928-32.
    Duncan was an All-West Virginia Conference selection and captain of the 1931 Hilltopper football team that ranked among the highest scoring teams in the nation. He had previously served as captain of West Liberty's 1930 men's basketball team and concluded his outstanding collegiate career as captain of the 1932 baseball team.
    The 1932 West Liberty graduate worked at Wheeling Steel until joining the U.S. Navy in 1943. He spent two years serving on an aircraft carrier in the Pacific Theater before returning to the United States in 1945. After his return, Duncan relocated to the Canton, Ohio area and worked there until his retirement in 1975.
