Dan Enich was a four-year starter and two-time All-West Virginia Conference selection on West Liberty baseball teams from 1980-83.
An outstanding defensive catcher with a potent bat who came to the hilltop after a stellar high school career at Weir (W.Va.) High School, Enich was a special-mention All-WVIAC pick as a sophomore before earning first-team honors each of his last two seasons.
After graduation, the former Hilltopper received multiple tryouts with various major league organizations and served for many years as a scout for the Pittsburgh Pirates. Enich spent more than two decades as a teacher, coach and administrator in the Hancock County (W.Va.) School District.
