A 4-time NAIA All-American and West Liberty's third national champion, Brian Davis made a tremendous impact on Coach Vince Monseau's Hilltopper wrestling program from 1991-95.
Davis came to the hilltop as a non-traditional student-athlete after serving six years of active duty in the U.S. Marine Corps. The Desert Shield/Desert Storm veteran was a 2-time member of the National Greco-Roman national champion All-Marine wrestling team and that experience paid off in spades at the collegiate level.
The Frostburg, Md. native placed third or better in four consecutive NAIA National championship tournaments, winning the 177-pound title in 1994 when he helped lead WLSC to a Top 5 finish. Davis placed third at 177 the following year as part of the Hilltoppers' national runner-up finish, ending his career with a dazzling 99-17-1 record.
He spent several years as a high school teacher and coach at multiple high schools in Maryland and Ohio and eventually returned to West Liberty, serving as head coach at his alma mater from 2007-14.
