Bob McNabb was a standout performer on some outstanding West Liberty men's basketball teams during the late 1950s. A dominating scorer and rebounder, McNabb was a three-time All-WVIAC selection who finished his career ranked among the school's all-time scoring leaders with 1,454 career points.
McNabb was especially impressive during the Hilltoppers' run to the 1957 WVIAC Tournament championship. He played key roles in the Black and Gold's semifinal upset of West Virginia Tech and the championship game stunner against Alderson Broaddus to earn a spot on the WVIAC All-Tournament Team.
After graduating from West Liberty, McNabb began a career in education that stretched over nearly four decades. He spent the last 31 years as principal of Martins Ferry (Ohio) High School before his retirement in 1996.
