CHARLESTON, W.Va. – West Liberty University men's tennis star
Ivan Irazabal has been named to the All-West Virginia Conference team for the second consecutive season.
The WVIAC coaches announced the results of their all-conference balloting here Friday during a break in quarterfinal play at the WVIAC Tournament.
Irazabal, a senior from Temixco, Mexico, led Coach
Sam McCullough's Hilltoppers from his No. 1 singles spot this spring and teamed with
Raphael Machado to give West Liberty a formidable pairing at No. 1 doubles.
Concord's Diogo Monteiro was the WVIAC Player of the Year while Davis & Elkins' Charles Brunel was voted WVIAC Freshman of the Year. Charleston's Matt Santen is the 2013 WVIAC Coach of the Year.
The Hilltoppers were scheduled to take on No. 2 seed Charleston Friday afternoon in a WVIAC Tournament quarterfinal.
