WEST LIBERTY, W.Va. – West Liberty University football fans can get a head start on the 2010 season Tuesday when “Hilltopper Football Weekly” makes its 2010 debut.
The half-hour show featuring Roger Waialae, head coach of the nationally-ranked West Liberty football team, and Reid Amos, voice of the Hilltoppers, is set for an 8 p.m. telecast on West Liberty University television (WLTV-14) and to more than 50,000 Comcast cable subscribers in northern West Virginia on Channel 14.
Internet users will also be able to access the telecast through a video link on the No. 7-ranked Hilltoppers' upgraded Athletics website www.hilltoppersports.com.
Waialae and Amos will discuss the team's outlook for the 2010 season coming off last year's magical campaign which saw West Liberty go undefeated in West Virginia Conference play and advance to the quarterfinals of the NCAA Division II national championship playoffs.
They will also offer a preview of Saturday's season opener against Edinboro (Pa.), which will be looking to avenge an 84-63 loss to the Hilltoppers in the second round of last year's NCAA Division II playoffs. Kickoff is set for 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Russek Field.
Following tonight's initial showing, the “Hilltopper Football Weekly” program will re-air Wednesday, Thursday and Friday at 8 p.m. on WLTV-14 and Comcast throughout the season.
